Lesson planning

How does your mentor write-up lesson plans?  What do they do for formal observations?  How do they plan weekly? Monthly?  What is the long range plan?

Transitions

Think about how your class transitions between activities.  Is your class different with you than your mentor?  Are certain times of the day more challenging for the students, for you?  What types of strategies have you tried?

I used to sing a song to let children know when it was meeting time.  Once I began singing, they would automatically clean up their work and come to the meeting rug.  What strategies work best for you?

We had our first Costa Rica meeting on Tuesday.  If you couldn't attend but are still interested, please let me know.  I will bring materials to class.

EC Interns

It was great seeing all of you. Please do the following before we meet next.

1. Set up your blog and email me your URL (web address). I will post a link on my page.
2. Post at least once a week!!!
3. Create a "welcoming bulletin board" in your classroom and take a photo and post it on your blog.
4. Read the "first three weeks" expectations.
5. Do learning Unit One (for EDEC 404) by Sept. 6. Do not wait until Sept. 5:) (I can tell when you visit Blackboard)
6. Have Fun getting to know the children, teachers, and families at your school!!!

Future EC Teachers
